Overland Park Convention Center
6000 College Blvd.Overland Park, KS 66211
This year’s dates JCYM volunteerism lands on Thursday, November 21st and Friday, November 22nd.
Be sure to enter at the Lower Level of the OPCC. At Will Call, a ticket will be provided to enter, then head up the escalators for your volunteer shift.
JCYM and other community partners have been a welcomed
addition to the Festival of Trees event helping at COAT CHECK on the upper level of the Overland Park Convention Center during the JCCB Festival Of Trees Charity Auction.
We hope this page is helpful to new and seasoned Festival of Trees Coat Check Volunteers.
Be sure to get familiar with helping shoppers shop our Charity Auction.
Thank you for volunteering to assist our Philanthropy, Johnson County Christmas Bureau, in the Coat and Package Check at the HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE. If you have not attended this event in the past, thousands of women in the surrounding areas come to SHOP, SHOP, SHOP! They do not want to carry their COATS or PACKAGES around while enjoying their time shopping - and that is why they have the COAT and PACKAGE CHECK area. LOCATION: at the top of the Escalator.
Our duties are to collect a small donation when their items are dropped off and record their name and cell phone number on a two-part ticket. One ticket for them to return and one ticket for us to keep with their personal items. There will be signage with the Donation information and also for JCYM indicating that we are assisting for the 2 days - good exposure for JCYM!!
You will receive a FREE TICKET for entry into the Holiday Boutique for each shift that you volunteer. (Value = $16) You can also stay at the OPCC after your shift, if you want to leave and return later that day, be sure to have your hand stamped for reentry.
How busy we will be and how many volunteers we need is very dependent upon THE WEATHER. It is most comfortable for everyone to have 4 - 5 women helping per shift. Please note on the following attachment that we do not have five volunteers for any of the shifts. If you would like to ask a friend to assist us, please coordinate with Roseann Newcomer or Susanne Kennyhertz. Your guest volunteer would also receive a free ticket.
Please read the info below about parking. The DOWNSTAIRS booths open at 9am, but NO ONE is allowed upstairs (except for us to our area to train - not to shop) until 10am. The earlier you arrive the easier the parking will be, but you are not needed until 930 am for training. The SHUTTLE works very well, especially for shifts later in the day - please plan to arrive for your shift allowing time to park/ride the shuttle. Another option is to have someone drop you off at the downstairs doors on the NORTH SIDE, not upstairs on the College Boulevard side.
Thank you,
Roseann Newcomer 913-908-1784
Susanne Kennyhertz 913-706-7973
